I have a CICS system with 4.1SW connected to a Norstar 4 Port Flash. Ext 221 is a 7316 phone. The red led on ext 221 is blinking nonstop. When the phone is unplugged and plugged back in the red light doesn't turn on right away but will within a few mins. Thanks for any help.

did u try swapping phones "another 7316 or 7310"
You guys need some lessons in trouble shooting 101

What does the display read on the set? You might want to try pressing f#65 to delete any messages on that set.

I owuld press F65 first to see who left the message, maybe somebody did a F*1 to 221 which is a poor mans vmail then do the F#65 to erase the message.

There is no messages for the ext. I did a feature #65 and the display reads no messages. I swapped the phone with a new 7316, changed the phone from port 101 to port 107 and changed the DN from 227 to 220. The next day the light was blinking when I returned. I have also done a system restart. The alarm DN is set to 221.

Turn set relocation off and change with another set....if problem persists replace set.
Memory coming back a little but think I had same issue as a tech and ended up replacing set.

Is it a T7316 or T7316e?

Set relocation has always been turned off. The first phone with the problem was a T7316e. I had a new T7316 and used it to replace it. This is the only T7316 on the system. All the rest of the phones are M7310's The phone has 5 Lines set to appear only. The Flash VM answers all incoming lines on the first ring. The phone also has 2 hunt groups programed. The light blinks regardless of incoming calls.

if all else fails
it could possibly be inductive noise on ths power lead. I have had it cause other weird problems.
do you have a 2 conducter set cord or a 4 conductor set cord

if it is a 4 conductor cord replace it with a 2 conductor cord or disconnect any extra wires from the jack .

did you try to put on a 7208 set then back to the 7316? causing the firmware(?) to download again from the ICS?

this has fixed a quite a few oddball troubles on specific phones.

Chris, what did you find on this? I have a whole business doing the same thing. It's not a message and I don't believe that every phone in the business has gone bad. Please let me know.

How many phones do you have in your business? Can you place a phone back at the phone system, connect it right to the station block and bypass the cabling? See if the red blinking light starts again.

Back on the m7310's rel I think 21 or below if there was a microwave tower near the window all the phones would reset.

It's a customer of ours. Every phone blinks as if it has a message. I rebooted every phone and the blinking stopped for a while. I stopped back by this week and every phone is blinking again.

This is a MICS 5.0. All phones are T7316.

Same questions apply. Though I wouldn't think it would cause it, have you tried punching down a set directly to the station block to eliminate E3 (environmental factors) as a possible cause?

Are all of the sets members of a Group MB?

I've never had this trouble. Please post if you identify the culprit.

We have a phone in the room with the MICS and I belive that it is having the same problem. I'm going back by tomorrow. I'll let you know what I find. Thanks.
