Hi.

Im fairly new to Sun servers so please forgive me if I ask something obvious =)

I recently installed a Sparc T5120 Server. The server has a redundant PSU. During installation when I plugged in the second PSU the server powered off.
Since then the server only powers on from the ILOM. Until I log through the the Service Management port I cannot turn on the server. There are no leds active on the front pannel.
The moment I log in through the ILOM the OK led starts to flash and I can turn on the server.
This happens every time I remove the power from the server (if I poweroff normally and don't remove the power supply I can still power back any time).

Any help would be much appreciated!

I can tell you that we bought 2 5120's a while back for a project. both systems we received from Sun had hardware issue, there is a power distribution unit in there that was bad on both systems. Mind you the serial numbers were sequential. So that tells me they were literally built at the same time/day.

my symptom was that I could use the on board dvdrom, it would not work. I would receive an error. So it made it impossible to install an OS, since my jumpstart servers are not connected to the subnet of these systems since this was a one-off project, we just work through the issue with Sun till it was resolved.

If these are new systems I would have Sun figure out what the issue is.
