Does anyone know if you can mix the drive size in a T3, is this supported?

What will happen if you do mix drives? Say I have a couple 36gig drives and 9gig drives will the 36 default back to 9gig or will the complete drives be used?

Thanks

Yes you can mix differnt disk sizes and it will be supported.

This depends on you configuration. When you mix disks in the same raid volume the smalest disk size will be set as the max disk size. But if you put the 9 gb disks in raid volume one and the 36 gb disks in raid volume 2 the native size of the disks will be used.

I could not find it on Sun's site but I located on another site that said mixing drives in the T3 is not supported, maybe this caused part of my problem(raid failed after restore of 20gig). Replaced odd ball drives so all drives are the same and no problems since restore.

Thanks for the information Willemvrm.
