Are telepjone provider told us that we would have to program the MICS to creat roll ever lines off our T1 circuit. Is this even possible. We currentl have 23 channels with nubers assigned to each channel.
Nortel MICS 6.1

as far as I know the channels are never assigned a number, you should have a block of did's given to you by the CO and those numbers ride on the T, you create Target lines that you assign to each set(and assigned each target line a different DID) and you roll over the numbers as you wish or you can add aperances of an individual line in a set.
i.e. if the main number is 602-222-5555, that is assigned t0 target line 195, you assing target line 195 to ring on set 5555, than you give the set as many intercoms as you want giving that set the ability to answer as many 5555 call as you wish, than you make that set roll over to mail, or another set etc...

i want this forum to return to what it used to be

Is this even a valid thought or just random words spelled incorrectly?

jeremylh,

What you have received from Telco is a channelized PRI. You would need to convert that to a standard PRI with each of your DID numbers (those assigned to each channel)changed to standard DID numbers.

Changing it to a standard PRI will allow your calls to come over ANY available channel, therefore negating the need to program any kind of roll over in your switch.

Standard PRIs are ususally ascending starting with channel 1 and automatically rolling to the next available channel if needed. To go out over the PRI you will put the channels (lines) in a pool and they will be accessed in a descending fashion starting with the 23rd channel.
