Vendor
IPO 8.1 (85)
Legacy card carrier
Universal PRI-1 daughter card
Super trunk (non-PRI) T1 from Telepacific all 24 channels
T1 currently works in customer's Nortel MICS system.
When I plug it into the IPO I can not make or receive calls. I plug it back into the Nortel and it works just fine.
I am using the same T1 patch cord; just unplugging it from the Nortel T1 card and moving it over to the IPO.
When the T1 is plugged into the IPO the red and green light on the T1 card flash and the green light never goes solid.
With the T1 unplugged the green light does not even flash.
I made a loopback cord and plugged it into the T1 card and the green light immediately lights up.
I have tried a second set of the legacy card carrier and PRI-1 card with same result.
When dialing out the screen says 'waiting for line' and gives an error tone. It does this weather the T1 is plugged in or not.
When the T1 is plugged in and a DID is called all the caller hears is silence for 20 seconds or so then an error tone.
If the T1 is unplugged and a DID is called the caller hears an error tone immediately.
Now for the setup
The Nortel that the T1 works on is setup as follows:
trunk type: E&M
Line type: Pool A
Dial mode: Tone
Auto privacy: yes
Answer Mode: Auto
Answer with DISA: No
Aux Ringer: No
Signal: wink-start
ANI Number: No
Line 001-024
Disconnect timer: 460
Answer timer: 2
CO fail: TIA 547A
I/F Levels: ISDN
Framing: ESF
internal CSU: off
DSX1 bld: 000-100
Line Coding: B8ZS
clock source: primary (telco)
The IPO setup:
Line Type: T1
Admin: In Service
Framing: ESF
Zero suppression: B8ZS
Line: CPE
incoming digits: 3
channel allocation: 24>1
clock: network
CRC: checked
CSU operation: NOT checked
haul: 0-115
Channel unit: foreign exchange
direction: bothways
Bearer: Any
Type: E&M - Tie
incoming trunk type: wink-start
outgoing trunk type: wink-start
admin state: in service
I have not messed with the timers on the IPO since it does not even seem to be in sync with telco. Telco says it looks to be in sync on their end but I can't see how that is possible since I do not have a solid green light and the line status is out of service.
Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated.
The plan was to switch them over to a PRI in the near future so it would be a simple graceful transition from the Nortel to the IPO.
Thanks, Steve
