Hi All:
I have a Nortel Meridian 1 61C and I installed a T1 card so we can go from our PBX to another PBX, by the way of Sprint T1, everything worked fine for months, put in our access number and got dial tone from the other PBX and dial 9 nxx-xxxx and make a local call in another area code, but this morning I went in and the T1 was disabled, so I reset the T1 and it displayed that all ports were idle and ready to make calls, but when you put in the access code instead of getting dial tone, you get dead air, nothing. Sprint check there T1 and the other PBX checked there settings and everything check out ok.
If you can instruct me on how to fix this problem, it would be greatly appreciated.
Thank You

is this a pri or a t1? either way, i would dial into the other end, take them both down and bring them back up.. might be hung, lcnt needs to be all zero's.. if you don't have errors (yellow, red or lcnt) sprint is not part of the problem.. they are only giving you layer 1 on a clear channel tie..

Do calls work even without the dial tone?

Reason I ask is, during troublshooting, could the DLTN prompt in the Route Data of either system(s) been change to "No"?

It is not uncommon

Have you checked your clocking?
If both switches have different clock sources the T1 will slip and drop then recover-work fine-drop-recover-work fine-drop, etc.
