Very interesting device, I will have to go to Data-Loggers website and see what they say about it.

Looks like I am going to be testing this one on my own. Surprised nobody has used anything like this before

This looks Like a Great tool to Listen to, and Log calls.
The only thing missing from the PKG would be some SMDR capability!

I already have a system hooked into the SMDR. I use AGGSoft.com software program that takes the data stream and dumps it into Access. I then have made Access reports on daily calls, weekly, individual extension and so on. I made reports for a 5E and DMS/100 when I was 16.

The reporting works great now just can't wait to get this Logger running to see how it works.

with 16 you did those reports?
good stuff but now that you are 19 it is probably even easier for you ;-)
Bear in mind that most phone guys are a tad bit older then you are and did not grow up with a computer in every corner, I bought my first PC 1999 but I was working on phone systems since 1984 , the days when you heard if someone picked up the receiver and you could count the clicks for the dialing (pulse dialing). There is so much new stuff out there that I can't keep track of it and if a customer doesn't ask me for a specific product then I won't bother with spending time on it. There is enough new stuff coming out by the manufacturer I work with. But I have to say good to know that there is this option and if you find it to be working properly let us know and we might be able to install it another time for a customer that really wants this. Heads off to your enthusiasm.

haha 19 sorry try 29. My Dad owned a software company that specifically worked with the 5E and DMS/100 they made a complete MIS system. I wrote the reports in Crystal back then trust me I have no clue how to do them now I just use the ideas of reports I made to create the reports I have now. I will have to see if they have an export of settings in the program it was difficult to configure but now that it's running it goes pretty good. If anyone is interested let me know.

My point in this was that's a Kool Tool for Logging and recording calls. It would be nice if there was an SMDR input to it so the logged info has a matching SMDR record.

SMDR is easy to capture, and if you do it with something as simple as hyperterminal capture, importing it into excel is a no brainer. Again, it would be kool to have this logging tool capture this data and place in on the pc with the logging records. Just think of the flexibility and Fun you administrators could have with that!

I haven't see how it stores the recordings yet but it says you can find records based on phone number, date and time. So I have to figure I can work a query to match date and time along with phone number to have links from a report to a specific call. That is the hope. Right now just having talk time reports for a telemarketing room is huge. We can now fire if someone is not putting in enough time on the phone. Saves the company a lot of money having this kind of proof when they go to the labor board

it sure sounds good so far, I guess I will have to look into that one too because I remember that call centres are always interested in that and adding voicemail channels ca get expensive
