Good morning,
I attempted last night to convert our exisitng T1 from e&m tie to PRI. D-channel came right up, but my trunks would not, they stayed in OOS-Pins-FE on both ends.

Regardless, to do this, I had to remove the existing trunk groups(voice TG and data TG) to install my new PRI trunk groups. After the failure (always good to fail occasionally, keeps me humble), I re-programmed the trunk groups, and they came back up as inservice/idle. I can call back and forth just fine. My problem is that I am no longer passing internal caller-id between the locations, and the remote end seems to have lost its ability to cover to our voicemail here at the main node.

As as side note, previous to this, I would test the voice mail by calling the data module, and it would connect me to the VM back here on main campus. Now when I call the data module at the remote end, I get modem tone.

Any thoughts as to what I may have broken by removing the trunk groups for e&m tie at each end? I had printed them in advance just in case the PRI didn't work, so they are programmed exactly as they were before. I really think I broke the data module somehow.

TIA
Kyle

Quick update. The data module on my main was out-of-service. Went up and popped the board out and back in and put it back in service. That brouoght the data module back up, but I'm still having the same issues.

- Are the T1's provisioned as PRI trunks by the provider?
- Did you reprogram it as PRI trunk or Tie trunk?
- Can you copy and paste your programming on PBX?

Thanks,

Actually, I have managed to get things back up as T1/e&m TIE.

I had to diable and re-enable the link on the DM at the remote end.

The only problem I'm left with currently is when calls go to the remote end, and cover to VM, the caller (external or internal) get a "Your call is being answered bu audix, the person you are trying to reach is unavailable, please enter the 4-digit extension and # sign"

It sounds like the number is not being sent back properly.

Any ideas?

Is it for all calls? Have you tried to see if there is anyone fiddled with coverage path? Is it problem with single user or a group or with the whole switch?

Resolved. It just seemed to take time for the voice mail to receive digits. I made no additional chanegs, and it suddenly started working.

As to why the PRI's weren't working; I spoke with Verizon, and these old T's were coded to AMI. I have a change order with them, and we should be flying. Thanks for the help.
