we have a t1 link down..what are steps to find what problem is? what commands we use to diagnose problem?

is it display errors?

First thing to do is to "test board xxx" (xxx - DS1 associated with the trunk group), then check the fail codes in the maintenance book

Once you know the board that is down you could do a "busyout board XXXX" Then "release board XXXX"

If that doesn't work you could also "reset board xxxx" sometimes they just need a quick kick in the pants to re-seat.

If this is a PRI you can also status the sig group. Sometimes the D channel needs to get bounced.

We have almost 30 T1's. If your board test fails, take a jack and strap pin 1 to 4 and 2 to 5 and unplug from the network and plug your cable in, then retest your board it should pass but test 143 is historical and might show an error
