If I were to lose both of my clock sources what happens to the clocking on the switch? (Option 81)

What effect does that have on the swtich and how long can it remain in that state?

You are no longer clocking from higher stratum source so you most likely experience alot of slips and errors, depending on your setup this may or may not be service affecting.

In theroy your switch could stay in free run perpetually, although this is not recommended.

How long you remain in free run is dictated by alarm thresholds set in LD 73. After the T1 hits a threshold it will be disabled and give a minor alarm.

ABOUT THE ONLY THING YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IF YOU ARE RUNNING DATA THROUGH DIAL UP MODEMS AND FAXES YOU WILL ENCOUNTER ERRORS

OLD ROLMEN WORKING ON NORTELS

If the T1 errors exceed the threshold, will the option 11C take the span out of service?

To: Jumpermonkey if you change the BIPC and LFAC prompts to 0 Then there is no limit to the times that the system will automatically reset itself, if those prompts are anything other than 0 in those fields then the system once it reaches its thresholds will require that service be restored manually.

if my primary source goes down, what effect will it have on my active calls , assuming secondary reference is configured.

panky
