existing setup just changing t1 to new provider.

Having problems with the new isdn pri making outbound
calls. Inbound no problems receiving calls/DNIS from test
toll free number.

Tech at other end asked if I have bchannel selection set
to "preferred" or "exclusive"?

Said I have to have set to "exclusive"

I've never seen this setting and can't find any info.
Does anyone know how to check or change?

It is on page two of your disp/chg trunk X. Usually set to preferred. I have never changed this setting on hundreds of PRIMES. Most likely your problem is in call tagging on your ARS. Your provider probably wants a different tag. Local or LD or both service? Local calls usually 'locl' or 'hnpa', LD usually 'fnpa. In route have you change prefix mark? Does provider want to see the 1 (probably not on PRI as they get this from the tagging), have you set your NPA?

This setting does not appear on my trunk group settings page.
I looked there severals times before posting.
It's called "Outgoing Channel ID Encoding:" but it's not on mine. g3si v6 - TN767E v18

My thinking is it had to do with the ARS/routing tables.
LD carrier wants "national 10 digit" dialing.
Previous LD had 1+10

So when testing new LD T1, I set up a new test route pattern
and made sure my test number is going to test route pattern
"list ars route-choosen xxxxxxxxxx".

ars = Test number x min 10d, max 10d, test route, fnpa

In test route, correct trunk grp, FRL ok,
prefix mark 0 (suppress 1) insert digit 'blank' = No go
prefix mark 0 (suppress 1) insert digit '1' = No go
prefix mark 1 (insert 1) insert digit 'blank' = No go

I also believe CDR reports are giving me outpulsed number
and shows as above both ways with 1 and without.

I read through docs on prefix mark because I thought that was the reason at first also. both as far as I can tell it's not unless I'm missing something?

maybe I'm still confused, so lets see...
dial plan
npa = 480

ars min/max 10 fnpa

route npa 480 / prefix mark 0

When I can't get it going I switch back to old LD T1 and everything works fine.

update: solved

Got tech to take a look at what they where receiving and said
he was getting "preferred" and needed "exclusive".

I told them I couldn't find a setting to change it, so they changed on there end and all is well now.

He said has inbound set to exclusive (because it was working) and outbound set to preffered.

Ok, got me, but it works now. PFM
