Hi there
I've been asked to reprogram a System Speed Dial number on this old system. I have managed to get into CAT mode on the main handset but when I key in Command> 72 DE I get Digit Error message. The number is in bin 055. Customers us #5055 to call an outside number. I am pulling my hair out here.
Please help
Cheers
Davog

Depending on the generation of the system it could be CMD 72, or on the later systems CMD 720. Try 720 DE

IIRC it could be four digits depending on whether the system is programmed for 300 or 1000 memory bins

Ok Managed to store the number but now dialling #5055 does not dial out?
When I press the sys key max bins is 299

Every speed code I dial now dials the same number. eg #5001 dials 29873640 #5002 dials 29873640
This appears to be a default speed bin number but I can't find where it is!I am going mad

Over the life of the NEAX 2000 system , NEC has expanded the number of system and station speed dial bins. It would help if you could tell us what generation system you have, and what software level is loaded. On the component side of the CPU there is a designation. EX: CP-01/CP-14/CP-24, ETC. which one do you have? Go to to find out what software you have. This information goes a long way in assisting you.
As for two bins dialing the same number, it's probably programmed into both bins.
