system restore

I am trying to turn off system restore to run my anit virus and when I try to turn it off it tells me to turn off my computer and restart it and try again but when I do it still dose the same thing. any suggestions on how I can shut system restore off kenny45_67333@hotmail.com

Not sure what o/s you are using but have you tried booting to safe mode and running the antivirus from there ?

See if any of the following articles help you. Whatever you are doing to System Restore you will have to be an Administrative user to succeed.

Run the Disk Cleanup tool and use the "More Options" tab to remove all but the most recent restore point.
