Hello all, IP Office 406 and 5410 phones.
In version 3.X I had language set to Italian but help was only available in english, so that it was not very comfortable to use.
I'm testing version of admin 4.0.5.
The manager sw version is now in english, so that I solved this, but I would like to have language used for example by phones or system messages in Italian or best of all customizable for extension and/or function to be used.
Is this possible?
I already have voicemail pro and the message when central hunt group is ou was customized so to have multi language response, but I'm referring here to the other functionalities, btw:
- queue message when central exchange operator is already in communication with someone
- message when a user presses the "messages" button on his/her phone to configure/consult the voicemail
- message saying "all operators are busy at the moment, ..."

Thanks
Gianluca

just put the locale on italy
you can find it at the system tab

I have this system parameter already set to Italy (Italian).
But if I press a 5410 phone "messages" button I get message in english... (you have no new messages, etc..)
Even if I force the user locale to italian, I get ther english message..
Tried to set french on a user but always in english.
Under D:\Avaya\IP Office\Manager I can see several languages directories and between them en-US, it-IT, fr-FR, ...
Is this correct place to see? Or do I have to see inside vmailpro dir for voicemail audiofile? or other parameters?

cfg for this ipoffice was obtained by export of 3.1.65 italian (board version 7) to a 4.0.5 english (board version 8). Don't know if this could be a cause...

found under vmailpro that in general preferences I have set
directory voice files for voicemail server as
D:\Avaya\IP Office\Voicemail Pro\VM\Wavs
but inside it only these directories:
Custom
en
enu
and inside WAVS dir itself there are many wav files....
Could it be this the reason?
Was this an error at install side where one could choose?
Can I only add languages or copy more directories from the vmailpro cd?
Thanks

Yes, you havent got all the languages installed.

Do a modify on the install.

The WAV files need to be in your Avaya\IP Office\Voicemail Pro\VM\Wavs Folder.

By your list you do not have the .wavs installed.

So all you should need to do is a modify type install from the Voicemail Pro disk and re-test.

probably only english promts are installed
if you have the vmpro software then install the italian prompts
but first make backup off the files and prompts you already have

Thanks to all who answered!
Now it works ok according to system locale and if I change a user, it correctly gets the language set (if different from locale). And also system messages are in manager locale!

And more languages were installed under Avaya\IP Office\Voicemail Pro\VM\Wav.

One more hint: the guy who installed VM pro, installed it in Italian.... what are the steps if I want to install it in english instead?
For sure I have to export .mdb, .mod and configuration of vmail pro.
Then, have I to go through complete uninstall and reinstall or what? Or does it need to be forcely installed in the language that matches the manager locale (italian in my case)?
What are the steps for import? Is it possible to export with vmailpro set in one language and then import into another one?
