Good afternoon

Could someone tell me how to supress system messages while executing a REXX routine in TSO. I am calling a COBOL program which is abending and i am getting pages of information that i do not want to see. I just want to handle the return code and move on.

Any help would be great!!

In MVS or z/OS, all I/O is related to a file (DD). What DD has the messages you want to suppress?

Frank

I am assuming SYSPRINT or SYSOUT which is allocated to my terminal.

We have tried the trap command with no luck. We also tried to allocate the dd assigned to the terminal to a file. That's not working either. If you know the trap command works, could you supply some examples on how that would look? Thanks!!

If you've tried SYSOUTTRAP and you've tried setting MESSAGE off in your TSO PROFILE and you've tried DUMMYing the file, then you've tried everything. If the messages are still coming out, get used to them.
