I am using system.mdw on a network drive to handle security for my access database in access2000. Users login when using any of my databases so I can track their changes.
Some users, have other databases in their local machine that do not require login. However, when they try to access these 'local' database offline access does not allow them.
Is there a way to fix this?

Thanks
Tom

Hi

Maybe you should assign a workgroup to the application and leave the system group for the generic work that your guys are doing.

I would create a workgroup just for the app,- say app1.mdw and point your application at that group.

Then when users access the main access program they are only pointing at the system.mdw, however you will need to ensure that its back to its original state before this will work.
There is another post on here by me today that explains the way to desure and re sure on a new workgroup if that helps

kind regards

Thanks Ronni,

I'll give it a try and let you know how it works...
I think I understand what you mean but will only be sure after I try it.
