We have been attempting to backup our System Manager 6.3.14.11.3595 server using SFTP to an ipswitch server.

We enter:

File transfer protocol: SFTP
Remote server IP: xxx.x.x.xx
Port: 22
User name: xxxxxxxx
Password: xxxxxxxx
File name: /var/Avaya

On each backup attempt we get the following error: PEM_UI_0036 which indicates a certificate issue.

Any suggestions to get the remote backup to work?

Kyle555,

Thank you.

I get the following options on the CLI: sftp -vvv

usage: sftp [-1Cv] [-B buffer_size] [-b batchfile] [-F ssh_config]
[-o ssh_option] [-P sftp_server_path] [-R num_requests]
[-S program] [-s subsystem | sftp_server] host
sftp [[user@]host[:file [file]]]
sftp [[user@]host[:dir[/]]]
sftp -b batchfile [user@]host
[dignoffo@chiavsystempa ~]$

I am not clear what follows after the -vvv FILESERVER?

try ssh then

it means extra extra verbose and if you don't support mutually agreeable encryption ciphers, it'll tell you.

Did you import the certificate chain from the ftp server into SMGR and the certificate chain from SMGR into the ftp server? Assuming you are not using public certificates so the trust needs to be established. One reason I push for setting up SMGR as a subordinate CA to the Enterprise Root CA.
