After upgrading from my previous graphics card geforce 4 mx440 i am now experiancing
problems with system instability. It will now reset the computer when playing games
(Far Cry) and crashes consistently when running 3d Benchmark 03 cpu test 02.
I receive this error message when windows reboots

BCCode : 9c BCP1 : 00000000 BCP2 : 805366F0 BCP3 : 842C4000
BCP4 : 00000136 OSVer : 5_1_2600 SP : 1_0 Product : 256_1

I have been informed that changing th AGP driving control may resolve this problem but am unsure what to set this to.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

Regards

Sam

The FX5900XT is a much more power hungry graphics card, what power supply do you have? is it up to the job? is it a branded unit?
The extra amperage draw on the PSU maybe what is causing instability.

Replying helps further our knowledge, without comment leaves us wondering.

I have a 350 watt PSU and an Inno3d 5900. It kept on crashing on the CPU test 2 On 3dmark 03 so determined it must a problem with the CPU.
I have clocked my Amd 2600 to an AMD 2800 and have now lowered it back down to a 2600 and it seems to work fine.
The system has been clocked for about 6 Months and not crashed once. Must be the intesity that is run on the CPU.
Anyway the system is now stable.
