I was trying to run the System File Checker on my ME PC, but I can't find it. I thought it was under Accessories, System Information, Tools, but it's not there. Isn't it available in ME? Can someone please help? Thanks.

Barry

Type sfc in the Start - 'Run' box. Be careful, the default settings are not too good for troubleshooting! Look for an 'faq' or google for how to use successfully.

Thanks all for the replys, but they do not answer my question. I know where System File Checker is supposed to be, but it's not there and apparently is not on this machine. When I try to run sfc (in Start\Run)I get a "cannot find file" message. I'm wondering where I can download the utility or find it on the OS Cd.

Howdy:

If you had read the link from PAnderson, it should have sunk in by now that ME doesn't have nor can you get SFC for it !!

READ THE DANG MICROSOFT WRITEUP !!!

My apologies - I assumed I had already read the article. I stand corrected.
