1. Two PC’s both Win ME, CD rom drive and 2 HD’s (CD and HD on same IDE as master and slave)
2. I removed out of PC 1, 1 HD and used the PC temporarly in an other office.
3. PC 1 back to original place, put HD’s again in...same place...same connection...nothing different...
4. System recognize HD, but no CD rom anymore...
5. Remove HD and system recognize CD rom....

Any advise/idea ¿?...I’m just a db-developer...not a techi...:))

Did you possibly change a jumper during switches (or lose one)?

Thanks for reply...

...and no...checked that first (and 2 and 3 times)....

Now I have the HD in the PC working well...but no CD drive....

Hmm...will replace the cable and see...
Being no techi, I suppose that the CD set as master and the HD (is second HD in PC) as slave is ok...

Your system is:
Primary Master= HD
Primary Slave= None
Secondary Master= CD
Secondary Slave= HD ?
This should work ok. Some CD drives have a problem as slaves.
This was working before and not now?
Have you tried putting both hard drives on the Primary and left the CD alone on the Secondary

No didn't tried that...
Ask me what you want from database and -warehouse, no poblem...but I try to stay away from the 'inside' of a PC...:))

Will try that...couldn't do anything wrong...
...if you see a PC in the sky with a guy on top.....:)

Thanks for reply...
