i have a question regarding data transfer from pc1 to pc2 over the network. While i'm tranfering data from pc1 to pc2, pc2 crashes and restarts.
can anyone help on this thanks.

Need some more information in order to help you. What is the nature of the crash? If you get a blue screen, what are the details on that screen? Does it say a particular driver failed? Also, at the time this crash occurs, is there anything in the System log to indicate the problem?

Does it always crash at the same % of the copy? Can u see what file's its trying at that time?

As mentioned - more info please. Both machines XP pro? workgroup or domain? Does pc2 always crash - and at what point (immediately, after 200MB data etc?).

How do you initiate the transfer (eg, copy/paste in explorer, drag and drop etc)? Is there a drive mapped on either machine?

any other problems with pc1 or pc2?

how many machines on the network - if > the 2 mentioned, can you do network transfers between other pairs of machines ok?
