Customer is looking at replacing an old Merlin, we're suggesting the Norstar but a vendor is pushing a Vodavi Infinite XTS Digital system at a lower price then the Norstar. Where can I go to get comps between the two system that will plainly illustrate the advantages of the Norstar when compared to this system. Dealing with the bean counters so cannot be too technical.

Tom2129-This would depend on what you need the system to do. If you give me a breakdown on what your EU would like the system to do. I would be happy to help you out on this.

thanks for the reply, for what they want to do both systems would fit the bill. I'm pro Nortel and wanted to provide documentation illustrating the superiority of Norstar compared to the Vodavi
 
I have installed and worked on the infinite system as well as the norstar.

Vodavi dosen't advertise their MTBF but the nortel MTBF for the norstar is 100yrs.

Since we train and provide docs for the system coordinator the cost of ownership is lower since you don't have to have a tech come out for button map changes and name changes etc. with the norstar as opposed to the vodavi.

one thing I always ask for is the references for the equipment and then find out how often the service tech is out to fix the equipment this goes back to the MTBF rate.

As an installer I have installed hundreds of Norstar's from day one. I worked for GTE for 33 years then retired and started my own business in 1999. I sell & service only Norstar cause I don't have to go back and fix it!!
I can't make money if I heve to go back and fix unreliable equipment.
