what type of video card and how much ram do you have, video editing can use a large amount of ram if your video card is failing or has a bad address on its memory could cause something like this

I would try to run some type of memory tester to check your Ram but my guess is going to go towards possibly bad memory on the card, your hitting a bad address or over heating which is causing the black screen and i believe the beeping is just telling you that there is no video signal,

Check that your RAM is at same Bit level. I once had 1 slot of 32 bit ram and other with 64 bit. Once I need to use both it creates a problem.
