Hi,
I have a MXe controller (v9.0UR3) that has the following problem:
- when I try to login to the web interface I get the message:"The 3300 ICP Administration tools are starting up.PLease try again in a few minutes". I should mention that the system is running perfectly (all IP phones are up; also the TK's are ok).
- when I try to login to telnet is asking me the user/pass and after I enter them it closes the window.
Does anyone has a hint on that?
Thank you.

...or connect a serial console and see what happens.

One of the final locks on the startup is voicemail. Of that didn't start properly, it can lock out ESM although the rest of the system may appear to be functioning properly.

@M1tel: this happens very often (once a week): we can not reboot the system every time.
@IrwinMFletcher: could you please give me some details about how can I check the VM and how do I restart/reboot the voicemail?
Thank you.

Either way for this to happen so often (OP states everyweek) is not 'normal' and I would suggest the disk was wiped and software re-installed.

If you have embedded voicemail programmed, simply try to make a call into it. It may still work, but if it doesn't, then you know that it's part of the problem. If you don't have voicemail, it still may be a problem if the licenses are read out incorrectly, as well a portion of voicemail starts regardless of your licensing.

The best thing is to try for serial port access, also look at the logs on the previous startup when you can get access.

iPVM_Status - displays status of embedded VM
iPVM_Stop - stops embedded VM
iPVM_Start - starts embedded VM

Knowledge is power, thats why we share!

First of all, thank all for your help.
Let me update: OPS Manager is programmed to backup automatically the system. It seems that from time to time the backup hangs up and OPS can't finish the backup.
I deleted the backup policy and I will try to update you later.

Backups can also fail due to a stuck voicemail port, so that would be my leading contender.
