If you don't want to uninstall the program that owns the icon, look for an option to not display icon in System Tray. These can be found normally by right clicking on icon and going to a properties page or opening the properties page of the program itself.

hey but some of them are uninstalled and it still has them there.. its basically every single icon that ever went there even for one second.. like if i minimized something... cuz some of the names are like of diferent operations like 1 doc printing, 32% downloaded ftp etc it has the exact # and stuff.. so it really sux..plz help

hey thats not the problem. most of them are unistalled and the icon is still there for the program and also it shows every single thing that was ever down there.. like minimization of a program while downloading it will show that certain percent etc... or like the printer one 1 unprinted document etc... its really annoying plz help

Maybe something like X-Setup or Tweak-XP would help, if you can't just right-click and exit the programs.

Or, check the Startup folder under Programs on your Start Menu. Any old stuff you don't need can be deleted by right-clicking and selecting delete.

Or, if you prefer the "hands-dirty" approach, you could check in the Registry for anything that appears in HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Current Version\Run. Be careful what you delete from here - and make sure your Registry is backed up first! CitrixEngineer@yahoo.co.uk
