Sys Mgr Roles

Hi All - Looking to determine a read-only Role in Sys Mgr for Help Desk access. Just to be able to see Exts and their programming but no be able to make any changes. Going through the Sys Mgr defaults Roles I don't see one that allows read-only for sets and to be able to check status of them (and trunks). Appears I need to select a few options/roles to give read-only access to specific aspects. What have you found works well for a read-only level Help Desk role and a role with minimal programming access on the level of name-changes and simple statusing of phones/trunks/etc.

If you're primarily an H323 environment and that's your only need, it might be easier to have a custom profile in CM for those people.

Otherwise, you should be able to copy a role and rename/modify - like, copy a "auditor" role and then add permissions as needed. The CM stuff can get very tedious to configure and very granular - you can "change' this but not that, etc. Plug away at it!

"like, copy a "auditor" role and then add permissions as needed" - Agreed that the Auditor is pretty close to what I want. When you say add permissions to that that's done by selecting additional Roles right? In other-words I cannot edit a Role?

you can't edit the stock roles, nor should you

I know I can deeply customize a profile in CM but is there a way to tie that CM profile to a Sys Mgr profile/login ID using the CM profile access and denials via Sys Mgr? Doesn't sound like it.

Na. SMGR uses 1 account to CM and it needs all the permissions that a SMGR superuser would require.
