SYNTAX ERROR - DoCmd IMPORT code

Please Help
This is code below was suggested I tried but comes up with an error
"Compile error" invalid outside procedure.

DoCmd.TransferSpreadsheet acImport, acSpreadsheetTypeExcel9, "Outlets", "u:\Extract.xls", True
 
Sort by date Sort by votes
acSpreadsheetTypeExcel9 should read acSpreadsheetTypeExcel97
