Is there a way to make sure that 2 filesystems on 2 different servers
are identical. NFS would be one way but its ruled out.
I know there are a couple of freewares available to do this. Can anyone name some. "rsync" is one to start with. I was trying to get some other
ones in order to see if there are better products out there.

What storage are you using?

A. Cheap way is to copy files using rcp.
B. Depending on size of FS, implement delta backup and restore with tivoli or veritas.
C. Go for emc software, Timefinder or SRDF.

Good luck

hi,

You can use rdist part of Operating System , run at night which copies files to remote box ( i.e. firstly all files , then only modified files)

I have SSA disks and LVM filesystems. I need to make sure
that 2 file systems are synchronised at all times.
