Evening all,

I've been assigned to oversee our update to Livelink. Previously the company was using public shared drives between all the computers as a document management system. Also note I have no programming experience except for the occasional dabbling in Matlab.

I'm trying to automatically fully synchronize a folder on a local drive to a folder in Livelink every X minutes. Hopefully this way the upgrade over will be easier. Could someone be so kind as to guide me in the write direction?

I know how "marking a folder for offline use" works, but is it possible to get Livelink to "target" a folder, marking it with a corresponding folder, and then getting it to automatically sync?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

If i can get it to auto sync, I wouldn't interrupt workflow. Everyone could still just use the public drive as they were before, and livelink would just be a mixture of backup and online/offsite access.

Any thoughts on how to achieve this?

either you are migrating to Livelink or you are just backing up to it, the latter is a very expensive option. If you do have to do it that way, then I would poll the shared drive to identify documents that have changed and then use LAPI / WebServices to push them up to Livelink into the relevant folders, although if you have WebDav / Livelink Explorer / Enterprise Connect then you may be able to link these in as seperate "mapped drive" type things to save on coding a LAPI/EWS routine.
