I am having an issue with a laptop not syncing offline files with the server.

What I have done so far is checked on the laptop to make sure offline files we enabled for syncing. Edited the GPO to enable force syncing throughout the domain (I administer a small 40 user domain)... As far as I can tell all settings are correct but there is something I am missing. I have also changed a GPO setting to allow network connections to initiate before login to ensure scripts run fully and syncing happens.

Furthermore I know that by default this should all happen within a 2003 AD environment, but its not on this laptop which has XP pro.

Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Can you see the little blue offline files sign above the files\folders in question?
When you logon, do you get a small notification balloon saying that You are working offline?
How big is your offline cache? Can you see files in it?

Elmurado, I honestly can't think of what you are referring to "little blue offline files sign".

No I am not working offline, all clients are connected to LAN with no issues there.

The last question I should look into. Is the offline cache on the server or client should I be concerned about?

When you right click a folder that is on the server you can choose Make Available offline. You then see an icon after the first sync happens-see here:

The offline cache is on your laptop-so when it is away from the network it will have a copy of the files in question. Then when you work on them away from the network and change them, they can update the version on the server when you finally reconnect to the network-this is the synchronizing part. I like to have my users synchronize when they logon usually. That way the file will be updated immediately.

Ok, thanks alot for your help Elmurado, I think ill be able to get this simple task going. Ill repost if I have anymore issues...
