Hello,

I am running Aloha 6.0.3 and cannot get the POS time to sync with my back office computer. I have my time set to Mountain Time and clicked 'Automatically adjust for daylight savings time'. The time on my PC is correct.

In Aloha, I have US daylight savings time checked as well as 'Sync POS time with Back Office Time'. MY POS is running an hour behind. I try to click no daylight savings time and it runs 2 hours behind. What can I do?

I used to have DST issues for years until I took this bit of advice of another friend / restaurant owner (not recommended by dealer).

All terminals, auto DST unchecked.
Server, DST checked.
Refresh FOH, reboot server.

Post back and state if this worked.

WhichWhich? TJ, Joey, is that you?

If you are in a timezone with DST, select from Aloha, the International DST. Then set your time.

Maintenance / Store Settings / System -Then check the "International Daylight Savings Time" radio button.

Do a refresh or stop/restart the CTLSVR and the time will be pushed to the terminals.

Hmmm, it seems like I got it to work. I have the terminal 'checked' for auto, the sever 'checked' for auto, and Aloha has 'US Daylight Savings time' checked, as well as sync pos time with back office. Its been running okay for a few days now. Will I have an issues later on with this setup?

If you are in an area with DST, then you must use Aloha's settings for, "International Daylight Savings Time", then ensure all register terminals are on the same timezone (They just have to match, Aloha will take care of the rest).

Are you with WhichWich sandwhich shops?

Ah, gotcha. Well I'll mess around with it some more and see what I come up with. Yes I am with Which Wich. I am the manager at the store in Fort Collins CO.

Another thing that may have nothing to do with your issue, but REALLY helps with Aloha's nagging time issues, is to put a little batch file in the startup menu to automatically sync time with the server on start up.

Make a text file with the contents:

net time \\alohaboh /set /y

Save it, and renamed the extension from TXT to .bat. (this assumes the your BOH is named alohaboh. If it's not, change that part to match the name of your server)

Put it in the start up along with your iber short cut.

Not saying this is necessarily a fix for your issue, but it makes life on our sites a lot easier (sync time always seemed goofy to me anyway).
