We have recently installed a complete suite of Nortel products in our call centre and we are finally getting around to installing Agent Desktop Display. After getting multicast working on our network, we have noticed that the Symposium Web Client displays are now using Multicast where before they were using Unicast to display the data. The supervisors are now complaining that their Web Client real time displays are refreshing much slower than normal. Since ADD requires multicast to work, is there a setting somewhere that needs to be modified to either speed up the refresh of the Symposium Web Client displays, or prevent them from using Multicast?

As far as I know Web Client 4.0 only supports multicast. 4.5 supports both uni and multi

what version of Web Client are you using?

We are currently using Web Client 4.5

Go to Start - Programs - Symposium Web Client - Configuration. Open up Real Time Reporting. Choose the Unicast Transmission Option (yours is now set to "Multicast and Unicast"). Click the Restart Real Time Reporting Service box; it will stop and restart the ICERtdService service.

Thanks for the information. If the Unicast transmission option is enabled on the server, will this not cause problems with Agent Desktop Display which requires multicast to work, or does this setting only impact Real Time Displays? Will a multicast stream continue to be sent from the server to the ADD clients if this option is modified?
