When choosing a standard skillset report in Symposium it's possible to choose the skillsets, date and time that I would like to print.

I have made some skillset reports in Crsytal Report and imported these into Symposium.

When choosing the report I'm not allowed to choose the skillsets - all skillsets (default) is printet.

Is there a way to make it possible to choose spesific skillsets when opening a user-created report made in Crystal Report?

If so, please post a "how-to-do", on this Thread....

Thanks!

If you right click on the report and select Duplicate.

Enter a unique name and select your criteria.

This is only possible, as far as I know, for standard reports. Not for reports made in Crystal Report.

Apologies, Didn't read it properly,

Is there any way that you can edit the crystal report to add a dropdown list or something like that.

Jason

In the Crystal report you have to add a Parameter Field and call this e.g. "Skillset"
As prompting text you can insert: "Please insert a skillset" and as Value type you have to select "String".
Under the Options select "Allow multiple values" and "Discrete Values".
If you would click on "Set default values you can choose 2 options:
1: Browse the table and select it's field and insert a description (reports will have to load this each time they run, takes longer)
2: Don't browse but type in short application names (if your application is called Sales_USA_app the selection "Sales" will return all applications, also Sales_Mex_App)

Select as Display: Description
in Alphabetical order; bases on Description

Insert a Formula: SelectVariable (Crystal Syntax)
//All closed applications are filtered out.
{dSkillsetStat.Application} startswith {?Skillset} and NOT ("?closed" in {dSkillsetStat.Application}) and {dSkillsetStat.Timestamp} in {@Start_date} to {@End_date};

In the Select Expert click on New and add the SelectVariable and choose "Is True" from the drop-down list

You can also select the date by creating a parameter field for date (Date/Time in stead of String).

This way if you start the report it prompts you for a date and if you want you can select a application (or skillset, but then you have to change it accordingly..).

I did this for our customers as well.

This report is good for adhoc report where you select the criteria before you generate the report. However, the problem is you can't schedule the report using this method.

Anyone knows how to create customise report that can be scheduled with some criteria defined (just like when you duplicate a standard report, whereby you can select the skillsets & data range).

Supernn, the information you posted - is this for choosing skillset when printing information from Crystal Report application, or is it for choosing skillset when opening a report in SCCS?

SKaret,

I believe it's for choosing skillset when opening customised reports in SCCS. When you double click the report, a parameter window will pop up. You need to select which skillset(s) and the time range before you generate the report.

Do not import the report as "other statistical data". You will get a dll error msg. instead select the "configuration only" option.

ErwinStevanus is correct here, I've selected the skillsets (or applications) directly from the Symposium server.

This can be scheduled with a tool like Jeff-Net Report Runner Batch, but it's rather expensive...

I'm still wandering what I'm doing here

Is there any way of bringing up a parameter window in Web Client for a crystal-created report?
