I have done a reinstall of the symposium client recently in which we had to apply some patches to get it to run with some new machines which had over 512mb of ram. The patches seemed to solve the problem we were having.

However since that point if i try to run any of the standard reports in the client i get a message saying there was an error trying to print the report due to a missing or invalid entry in the nortel sql.ini

I have edited the sql.ini to point to my symposium server and can now connect to it via excel or crystal reports but am unsure what exactly would be missing or invalid maybe we need another client patch?

I'm pretty sure its not that.. we did have it running on xp before this happened i can only assume its either going to be something thats not setup properly on the system since a reinstall, something is actually missing or incorrect in the sql.ini or a new problem caused by the last patches installed for the ram problem.

I think it's even more than 512 mb of RAM, as my machine has had 768 for quite some time now.
Ever since we upgraded to Rel 5.0, some machines received 1Gb of RAM and thenm the issues started. After installing SU11C that was cleared.

Try to have patches G015C, SU12C and G018C installed and verify this by clicking Start|Programs|Nortel Networks|Pep Viewer, as this one really shows how the patches are installed.
If not all 3 patches are in there you might need to remove them all (incl all entries in the registry = nightmare) or reinstall PC...

I've seen issues with not correct (de-)installing patches (SU06C, SU10C, etc) which caused many problems...

Good Luck!
