I have recently started to have problem carrying out backups on Symposium. (CC6). I have scheledued a backup that ran without any problem for about 8 months, but all of a suddened it just stopped working. It seems to run some of the backip, but the most important part the blue.dmp ( I think it called that) doesnt backup. anyone experienced this ort of problem before. I have had a look at the backup error log - but it only gives a very basic error message of:

07/08/11 22:12:38 - Starting backup of 'SCCS_Database' to device 'PrimaryServerTape' ...

This database backup has errors or warnings.

Thanks

Check to see that the destination of the backup has enough free disk space.

The way I do it is as follows. Always try to backup to CCMS server itself.

1. Create backup user and add it to admin group
2. Create shared folder and add backup user under permissions.
3. Add backup user to Local Security.
4. Test backup by using CLAN IP instead of CCMS server name.

If it fails, check:

1. Hosts file. Make sure no "127.0.0.1 CCMS_SERVER_NAME" or any other illegal entries are present.
2. Fire up regedit and search for 'arg6' key. If found delete it.
