Guys,

Is it written anywhere that symposium should/shouldn't be part of a domain?

If so what's the reasoning ?

It's not getting any smarter out there. You have to come to terms with stupidity, and make it work for you.

Nortel has changed their stance on this since release 4.2.

Yes, you can have SCCS be part of the domain now if you're running 4.2 or 5.0, I don't recall if the bulletin applies to 4.0 and earlier versions. If you have access to the Nortel Partner Information Site - go to product bulletin and search for bulletins in 2003 - the bulletin was available in the later part of 2003.

Don't remember what the true reasoning behind the no domain policy though.

If you have releasea 5.0 or 4.2, you can join a domain. Not so for earlier releases. Also, 4.2 is more restrictive in how it can be integrated into the domain, they worked out some of those issues in 5.0. Make sure you refer to the instructions for your specific release.

If you are connecting to an AD Domain, you will need to turn the Window time service Off on the Server. If you don't, the PBX and the Domain will change the time of the server and keep reseting the event browser and interval timer on the Real-time interval to dtae displays.

And to add to pldconsulting's comment, if you are loading on Windows 2003, turn off the internet time synch as well.
