Hi there, I had a query giving incorrect results. When I did some investigating, I figured out that one of the records that should have been included in the results had a + (Plus symbol) in a text field. When I took out the + the query allowed that record into the results. What would be the reason it was excluded with the + ? What other symbols would cause this issue?

Thank you,

Dawn

Hello Dawn,

Could you please post your Query SQL. That would help in trying to resolve your problem.

Thanks.

Hi Dawn -

If you have nothing joined by the offending text field and no selections based on this field, then it's necessary to see the SQL to determine problem.

If you have joins on this field, then the "+" made this field not match corresponding fields in the joined table(s) and, therefore, is not included in the results of your query.

If you have selections on this field requiring it to match a specific value (or included in a list of values), then the "+" made it not meet the selection criteria and that record was excluded from the results of your query.

If you have selection criteria on this field using the "Like" operator, be sure you have an asterisk at the beginning or end (or both) of the selection criteria string value.
