Hi,

Im going to be writing stored procs for a Sybase DB. Does anyone know the name of the language used to program a Sybase DB.

i.e. in MS SQL Server it is Trans SQL and Oracle it is PL/SQL.

Any web links to Sybase sprock and general programming info would also be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

If you are familiar with transact sql, that is what Sybase uses (.e. transact sql). Very little different from MSSQL. Go and look at the sybse web side
for the latest document on transact sql guide. Depending on the version of Sybase (do select @@version when logged in to Sybase) to find out which version you are using. However, this manual should be valid in most cases. Anyway good luck and if you have a problem come back to this forum

hello,

it is also transact sql... it is basically the same between sybase and ms sql...

the o'reilly transact sql programming book is excellent on identifying the minor differences between ms sql and sybase transact sql, and it is great for your programming needs...

also check out chapter 2 and chapter 6 of the sybase reference manual:
