Sybase Open Client Library

Wondering if anybody had the same problem I am having.
I have solaris 10 with sybase 12.5.4 working fine at the server.
The client however is a headache.
We had 12.0 before and it was so easy to install.
Now my ODBC just does not work at all.
I noticed that I do not have the Net-Libary tab when I select the Sybase ODBC Driver.
For the server name had to enter the IP address because it would not recognize the name of the server, then it said that is was successfulll. I can use sqlanywhere no problem.
Now linking a table in MSaccess will not work at all. Getting a nice error.
Reserved error (-7748_; there is no message for this error.
Client 12.5 is just a nightmare.
