Is there a procedure for single handed checking of a phone extension on the SX2000? The SX200 had this facility. Certain digit or digits were entered, handset replaced and the extension under test would ring. Can't find any mention of this facility in my SX2000 documents.

Best guess is that you are talking about Tone Demonstation

Lift the handset.
Dial the Tone Demonstration feature access code.
Dial the tone identification code.
Do one of the following:
To exit, hang up.
To listen to another tone, dial another tone identification code

Tone Identification Codes

10 silence
11 dial tone
12 transfer dial tone
13 busy tone
14 do not disturb tone (special busy tone)
15 standard ringback tone
16 special ringback tone
17 reorder tone
18 conference tone
19 camp-on tone
20 override tone
21 interrupted dial tone
22 interrupted dial tone with message waiting tone
23 waiting tone
24 paging tone
25 dial tone with message waiting tone
26 data connect tone
27 extended second dial tone
28 feature active tone
29 confirmation tone
30 congestion tone
31 Channel Associated Signaling ( CAS) tone
33 ringer pitch adjust tone

Thanks for the response but I'm not trying to check tones, I'm trying to test the phone ringer.
There should be a facility to dial a digit (or digits),hang up and the pabx would ring back so that the phone 'bell' is tested.

Did you try either of the following?

15 standard ringback tone
16 special ringback tone

There is also a method of setting the ring cadence and volume via the superkey.

Ring pitch not cadence

Try setting a FAC for Multiline Set Loop Test. In the COS for the set enable Multiline Set Loop Test. Dial the FAC from the phone. The phone will display "Test Press Keys". As I remember one of the tests was to ring the ringer.

Sorry folks I again should have made it clearer.
I'm trying to test analog phones and the only way to do that is to get someone to phone me back. I have to somehow get the ringing voltage on the line. It was easy with the SX200. I just dialled a test number ,hung up, and the exchange rang me back.
That's all I'm trying to do with the SX2000 That way I don't have to bother other people.

Thanks for your responses

I should add I'm not only testing the phone on the ringback but also attached audible and visual sounders.(North Sea oil platform)

Thanks for your responses

Neither the SX-200 or the 3300 have a ringback as you describe
