I recently upgraded a SX200 site to a 3300.

There were 4 Branch offices running 200's but only the Main site has been upgraded to the 3300.

Prior to upgrading (Everyone on SX200ICP's), the customer was able to transfer embedded VM messages between sites by simply giving to the remote DN the same as they would a local DN

Naturally, my customer wants this functionality back.

First I had no clue the 200 was even capable of this magic.
Second I am quite confident the 3300 is not capable.

I am asking if there is anyone out there that can confirm my analysis or better yet, tell me how this might be accomplished.

That would be Networked VM. What platform are the remote sites running? I'm not sure if this works between SX-200 and 3300 (though both use EMEM, so it might).

Networked VM requires both ends to be 3300's and also requires PNI's when transfering between nodes. Not very elegant.

Lundah, were you aware of the SX200 ability?

kwb,
I work almost exclusively with 3300's. I'm lucky if I still remember how to log into an SX-200 at this point.

If i read this right you are transfering VM messages across SX200ICP systems. How did you make this work??

The only way we've ever been able to "network" teh EMEM is by building all the VM users in the same 200ICP.

Pelco,

As far as I know the functionality was "Just There".

Nothing special programmed. I only learned that my customer was using it when they lost the functionality with the 3300 upgrade.

As long as the 200's are networked with ARS to dial each other it apears that you can forward the messages to the ARS digits.

thanks for the follow up. We must be doing something different if it just works. When we try to "give" a message to a user on another system the local voice mail system can't find a match to send the message. were using IP trunking and system to system calls work fine.

Hmmmm

Thanks for the feedback, I've been trusting my customers word on this. They are trustworthy. I have another site I might test with.

Our TAM is going to be in our office this afternoon I'm going to ask him. I'll post what he tells us.

According to our TAM the 200 can not share messages across the network, This is only available on the 3300

Thanks Pelco,

I will be on the site that claimed this capability tomorrow and I will test between the remaining 200's.

I will post my results.

I was unsuccesful in verifying this customer's claims.

Whatever miracle existed that allowed this fuctionality before the upgrade is no longer in evidence.

Sorry for getting everyone's hopes up.
