Setting wakeup calls from a guest room phone won't work. I dial the voice mail pilot number, followed the prompts and set the time for the wake up call. However, I set the wakeup call for a guest room extension, it works fine. What do I need to double check in COS? I've checked COS 2 ONS a few times and it appears fine. Any assistance is appreciated.

Thanks

1. Does the guest room have a mailbox, either via PMS or FD Mailbox?
2. Is there a blinking alarm light on the console?
3. Is your time format correct from the guest room (ie 24 hour format only)?
4. Option 322 in COS of the rooms?

Tenant Interconnection (the Call Rerouting)....are they blocked from "talking" to each other?

Yes. Option 202 is enabled in the COS of the rooms.

What I have been doing is setting up a RAD to provide guests with instructions on how to set a wakeup call using the FAC.

I've always found the VM wakeup to be unreliable.

kwb, so you program a speed dial key on a guest room phone with the RAD pilot #. Guests push the key, here the instructions, then program there on wake up call using the FAC instead of dialing the VM pilot number correct?

Yes, speeddcall dials Rad, instructions, then hangup and use FAC.

Instructions say that the codes cannot be dialed while listening
Instructions say to dial front desk if they have difficulty

Got it.

I did fix my initial problem. I was playing around with my SX200 ICP in the lab. There was no default code for FAC 32 Automatic Room Wakeup. I added one and tested the personal wakeup call from a room extension. It worked perfectly. The context of how wakeup calls work in the training manual doesn't state you must program FAC 32. It states that "Automatic Wakeup Routing may be programmed to a RAD DN." Without a RAD programmed or DN for it set up, the wakeup call rings the guest room phone but the user that answers hears silence. I can add a recorded message or MOH. I'll give that option to customers.

kwb, why do you feel this method isn't reliable?

Thanks

reliability is based on ease of use. I've found the VM method to be hard to convey to the end user.

Everyone, thanks for your input about this issue.
