Hi,

I'm programming a new SX200. The site has a block of 40 DIDs riding on their PRI. Only a handful of these PRIs are going to be used for service for the administration phones. I used the the 4 digit DID numbers as the extensions. I want to make everything for the end user as copacetic as possible meaning I'd like to make the mailbox for extension 4301, 4301. However, the problem I've run into is that in the SX200, mailbox extensions can only be 1 or 3 digits. Is their a workaround for this situation or do I need to point the DIDs to 3 digit extension and just make the mailbox match the extension number?

Thanks!

The voicemail allows for single digit mailboxes and up to 5 digit extensions.

The extension length is programmed via the Admin Mailbox (999 option 1)

It might be configurable in for 49, can't remember.

telephone user interface with the method kwbMitel has outlined, wish is was in form 49

when you change the mailbox length to 4 digits and go to form 50 to build your mailbox and add mb 4301 the extension 4301 will auto fill

I just realized I'm going to have the opposite problem. I have guest rooms and they want the extensions to match them. Guess what? Their three digits. Hmm, I'm going to try adding a 0 to the beginning or end of each guest room extension.

can you start each room with a 7, i.e. room 203 will be 7301 etc.

Yes sir, I believe I can. Lol!! No, 0 would definitely not be a good digit to start with. That would not make the operator happy at all.

It's a little extra work but you can have 3 digit extensions associated with 4 digit mailboxes.

Mailbox 7101 can be set to associate woth ext 101

Not having them match is only an issue if you plan on using the front desk mailbox for assisted login or manual check-in/check-out.

You do have to manually create each mailbox though, thus the extra work comment.

All,

I'm running into a peculiar problem. The Analog(ONS) phones message waiting lamp isn't lighting up after a voice mail has been recorded and left on that guest room extension number. However, from the console, I can send a message to the guest room extension and the message waiting lamp will begin flashing. Could this have something to do with setting up 4 digit mailbox numbers for a 3 digit room extension number? Maybe when I leave a voice mail for room extension 101, it's somehow not seeing that it's mbox #7101?

Thanks
