Hello all,
Putting in an SX200 ICP 5.0.2.14 and we can't call out from the analog room phones. ARS is stopping it. The COR is the same as the IP phones and the IP sets can call out just fine. Tried with the room vacant and occupied....didn't work. Baffled. Is there something in the COS that would prohibit this?

Thanks in advance!

Maybe ARS isn't the problem.
From the console, check the outbound calling restriction of an occupied room number. If it's set to INT, that is your problem.

Checked a few rooms and they say "vac/clean/int". Is that what you mean? If so, how do I resolve it?

Thanks again!

I checked option 101 "O/G Restriction Rm Status Setup" in my guest room COS and it's set to disabled.

Correct. "vac/clean/int" is the status for that particular room number. It's vacant, clean and it can only place int (internal) phone calls.

You need to change the calling permission to Loc (Local) or LD (Long Distance). Whichever calling restriction your customer prefers. To change the calling permission from a 5540 IP console
Press Function
Press F5-Guest Room
Enter the Room number
Press F5 Restrict O/G to toggle the calling permission from Int to Loc to LD.
Press F1 to Exit

Is your system interfaced with a property management system?

That COS option only needs to be enabled in your Console COS or a subattendants

It is being interfaced with ONQ. He is here now and we are setting it up for the hotel opening tomorrow. I've worked SX200 before but this is my first time working on the PMS portion.

I just changed this from pg 1106 of the folios:
In CDE Form 03, select COS option 101 (Attendant O/G Restriction/Room Status Setup) for the
attendant console
In CDE Form 04, enable System Option 33 (Room Status).
In CDE Form 04, set a default Vacant Room Status Call Restriction type via System Option 57 (Vacant
Room Default Call Restriction).

He just saw me make a LD call but no rates came through....probably because room shows vacant on the console. We are still trying to get the VM and PBX portions to integrate...he checked in a room but it still shows vacant on the console

Hilton has me installing an INN-FORM XL in between. The manufacturer, TEL Electronics pre-programmed it with Hilton's rates already. The INN-FORM is actually in alarm because it keeps looking for a printer....I will work on that later.

Ah, a Hilton property.
I leave Vacant Room Status Call Restriction set at Internal. Hilton brand standards and most other brands want it set to internal in order to prevent maids from talking on the phone or placing long distance phone calls.
The COS in form 4 that needs to be changed is the Occupied Room Status Call Restriction. Ask the hotels GM if we wants the occupied room calling permission set to Local or Long Distance calls. It's probably gonna be Long Distance. You change that COS option so that when a guest is checked in via OnQ; OnQ tells the PBX and Embedded Voice mail or whatever voice mail system being used, to change the calling restriction of the room number and to turn on the voice mailbox.

To change to O/G status you should enable System option 32 - It may require some other options to be tweaked

I would typically leave the default vacant status to Local - Option 57

Anything you don't want a vacant room to be able to dial, set the ARS field in for 23 to Long Distance

OK, we are trying to integrate but are having issues.

My system has options 108 Property Management System disabled and option 124 VM Property Management System enabled. What's the difference? These are purchased so I can't just change them , right?

ONQ guy is asking me if I want to do SMDR on one port and combine VM and PMS on another...or just do one for each. Right now I have 3 ports set up for him on 3 iPockets and SMDR is the only one working. We adjusted our baud rates to match and tweaked a few other settings but I cant stop thinking that the customer needed to purchased both 108 and 124. I logged into another site our company did and they have both.

Thanks for everything so far!

Enable option 108 and disable 107 if you want to connect the PBX to ONQ

Excellent....will do.

Now do I really need to set up 3 iPockets, 3 sockets and 3 Directed IO ports?

Right now I have 3 IO's (form 34)set up...
328 SMDR
329 CDE Data Print
330 PMS

...and 3 sockets (form 12)...
328 assigned to DTE 1
329 assigned to DTE 2
330 assigned to DTE 3

If you're going to use a printer for call accounting, yes.

Yeah, it's an INN-FORM XL box between SX200 and ONQ...with the rates programmed into it. No printer, but handing it off to ONQ on a DB9.

If that Inn-Form has a printer port on the back of it, I wonder if you can cable it to the OnQ interface? You may have to use some adapters and gender changers and possibly a null modem to make it work. If it will work, you will not need a third iPocket.

the 3rd interface is for voicemail on port 6830

You do not need an interface for CDE data print (other than for your own purposes

Maybe that's why I can't get into it anymore. I was using the maintenance port and may have removed the 328 CDE data print before disconnecting to check my iPocket parameters.
I've had problems using IE with Java 7 so I've abandoned that method of accessing it.....may be screwed over here.

It doesn't matter if you removed 328. You don't need it except to print the database. I wouldn't use that method regardless, there are simpler ways.

Best Practice

Number the ports with a leading digit 6 followed by the Slot number and then the CCT number. If numbered this way, it will match documentation that can be found on-line

This would number them as follows

61319
61320
61321
61322
61323
61324
61325
61326
61327
61328
61329

First of all, thank you both for your help so far. I've been referencing pages 179-186 of the THB through this whole process as well.

I got the VM working with ONQ using port 6830.
I got the SMDR working then lost it....not worried, I will get it back.
The PMS vendor is flying out of here tomorrow so we want to wrap this up today if possible but we are still having trouble with the PMS portion....can't get the names to come over.

It's my understanding that 61327, 6830 and 61328 are ALWAYS used for PMS, VM and SMDR....is this correct?

I believe I understand the SX200 part of the equation but here is what I set up.

Form 12
1/13/26 socket 61327 PMS
1/13/27 socket 6830 VM
1/13/28 socket 61328 SMDR

Form 34
61327 PMS Autoprint No
6830 Hotel/Motel Wakeup Autoprint No
61328 SMDR Autoprint No

I have 3 iPockets and programmed each to match the vendors parameters and entered my sx200 ports as well. I've been through the iPockets a few times already and that's how I got VM to finally work. I'm also thinking that they may be the culprit for PMS and SMDR...I'm going through them again this AM.

Thanks again!
