All,

I'm encountering a problem. I've got a 200 AX with several IP phones and analog phones set up in a hotel. After I installed it I tested if I could make outbound calls(local, LD, and toll free). All failed. I checked my COS and it looked good. I then went through the console to see if Restrict O/G was set to Internal and it was. I changed it to LD on all of my IP phones and was then able to make outbound calls.

Lo and behold, a week later, several hours before opening the hotel, I get a call from the GM stating they can't make outbound calls. I tested with the GM over the phone and these are the results:
Local calls: fast busy
LD Calls: I get a carrier message stating please dial a 1 first

I checked my Digit Strings and ARS and all looks fine. I checked the Restrict O/G on one of the IP phones and it flipped back to Internal. I had the GM set it to LD. Tried to make a LD call and still getting the message: please dial a 1 first. Tried to make a local call and getting fast busy. I had him check the Restrict O/G again and it's back to Internal.

So, I have two problems I'd like to ask for help on.
1) Why is the Restrict O/G changing back to Internal?
2) Why am I getting the carrier message?

Thanks,

How can I set up a trunk access code or TAFAS on a 200 AX?

Thanks

Looks like I can set up TAFAS by setting the FAC then enabling TAFAS Access During Day/Night Service????

You mean in the COS of the IP phones?

I should have read your post better, as you have done what I mentioned. Are these Pri trunks, if so see if form 42 unknown numbering plan is set to enabled.

Yes, it's a PRI. No, it was disabled in Form 42. No, PMS is not connected...yet. I'll test it and get back with you. Thanks!

If it is PRI and the protocol is NI-2 then I will give you odds for requiring the PRI needing to be set to Unknown Dial Plan.

How does 10-1 odds sound to you.

As for phones switching back to internal, this will not happen on it's own. Something invoked the change.

I talked with the carrier on Friday. They tell me they see the call coming across the PRI but they're not seeing a 1 in front of the number for a LD call. So, only 10 digits are making it out. I checked my ARS and found the following:

ARS Digit Strings
Digits to be Analyzed 1xxxxxxxxxx QTY to follow is 0 Designation LD Route Number 2

ARS Route Definition
Route 2 Trunk 7 COR 8 MOD Digit Entry 2

ARS Modified Digit Table
Entry 2 QTD 1 Digits to be Inserted is Blank CPN Y

ARS COR Group Definition
No members have been assigned to any COR groups

if you have done the unknown dial check, you should have digits to insert as *4*6*4

Whoa...please explain why I need deified to insert as *4*6*4 pandabear1?

*4 stops displaying digits in SMDR, *6 sends sends caller ID, last *4 starts sending any following digits out

Ok but...I didn't do this use this in two other systems and it works just fine. Just saying. Thanks

did the carrier say what options are programmed at their end, i.e. NI-1, NI-2, B8ZS etc.?

*4*6*4 Is not necessary, this is for send caller ID

as I said previously,

[highlight #FCE94F]If it is PRI and the protocol is NI-2 then I will give you odds for requiring the PRI needing to be set to UNKNOWN Dial Plan.

pandabear1: what's an unknown dial check?
kwbMitel: it's set for NI2, B8ZS,ESF, Termination Mode: NT, Protocol Variant: NI2 GT5

I haven't had a chance to test since Friday. My tech will be arriving this morning so I'll begin troubleshooting in a little while. I'll let you guys know what I find.

I think it's working. I'm getting pulled in different directions but I need to reconfirm. Going to post about another issue.
