maybe some of you older techs have had this happen, i have a sx 50 in a hotel after a lil time goes by the console will stop ringing you can see the call ringing on but no tone, when you unplug the console and connect it back it will work for a day or so, i have replaced console, and main control card, any other idea's?

You've eliminated two items. Check wiring, jack, and base-cord. When it happens again, you may also try unplugging other circuit cards one at a time and see if ringing returns. Remember not to unplug the CO card you're ringing in on.

Cups of coffee and the occasional Diet Coke have been known to render the ringer inoperable.
Turn the console upside down; if a sticky, caramel colored liquid oozes out, you may have found the problem.

NO GOOD DEED GOES UNPUNISHED!

Thanks have tried all the above except removing all cards will try that next.

Hey phoneguy34 this really sounds like a static problem if area around console is carpet put some anti static spray on it. This problem will show up on most console on all Mitel systems

Well update on this, after kicking, screaming, and alot cussing, found that i got 2 bad main controll cards back to back, replaced it with one i had in system in office and problem went away.

I still say Static Electricity.

Common Sources:
- Rug Protectors
- Rugs
- Plastic Wheels on chairs
- Sweaters (winter)
- Dry Weather (winter)
- Headsets (not cause but easy path)

It may simply be that the last time you changed the card that the enviroment was sufficiently changed to prevent static buildup of sufficient charge.
