Is there a way to verify that the system is running on a hard drive remotely?

I know it has more than 8 active vm ports which is my first(best?) clue

I just want to know for sure

a hard drive as compared to a compact flash, either way maybe this is what you need:

on the maintenance side go system-show-identity and viola, here it indicates a hard drive

MAIN MCC4 Dbg │ SX-200_ICP_4.0.3.12 │ │
│ CLOCK --- │ │ │
│ MX PLATFORM │ │ │
│ 56005413 RC.2 │ │ │
│ FRONT FLASH 0 │ │ │
│ INT FLASH 82 │ HDS728080PLAT20 │ PF2OA2AA │

this one indicates a compact flash

MAIN MCC4 Dbg │ SX-200_ICP_5.0.2.7 │ │
│ CLOCK ST3 │ │ │
│ MX PLATFORM │ │ │
│ 56005413 RC.3 │ │ │
│ FRONT FLASH 0 │ │ │
│ INT FLASH 8 │ SanDisk SDCFH-008G │ HDX 5.11 │

Exactly what I needed - You're a Star
