SX-200ICP BLF Question

Hi all,

I'm running a SX-200ICP with 5224 IP phones (currently 12 total). I have a multiline key set up on all the phones so they can all answer a call to our main line, but when someone answers a call on the multiline key, their busy lamp doesn't light up on other people's handsets. Is there any way to program the phones so that the BLF will still light on a multicall line answer?

I don't think so.

My work on 200's has been lax of late but if memory serves the BLF applies to the prime line only.

On a 3300 the story is different.

Slapin, I dont think the type of line in use makes any difference to the BLF.

The BLF only lamps if the prime of the set is active.

How many CO lines are we talking about?

Why not just program the CO lines on the phones themselves?

Please clarify your request.

I understood you to mean that when a phone is in use but is using a line key other than the prime line that a BLF key associated with the phone does not light.

Others seem to be reading something else. Which is it?

As I understood every phone in the office has a multicall button of reception of some other phone. All calls from external lines pointing to this phone or even non-prime extension. Goal is to accept calls on any phone and make BLF button representing phone which took this call on other sets lit.

We don't use this approach because it makes a lot of noise and doesn't scale too well since you can have up to 32 members in a multicall group.

Sorry I've been out of the office. kwbMitel is correct, the phone's are answering a multicall line which is not their prime line, and I want the BLF to light up when they answer it (if at all possible).

I'm not using CO Line appearances because I really don't quite know how to set them up. I don't have great knowledge with these phones, and the company we normally have work on our phones has screwed us over the last two times they've come to work on them and then sent us massive invoices for it so I've been trying to do as much as possible without them.

I know that we used to use CO Line Appearances at an old location, but when we moved they weren't changed so they no longer worked.

If you go into Form 9 and expand the sets you want to program, you will see CO LINE. Simply program a CO LINE on teh button you want to, and then teh system will ask you which line number you want to program there and if you want it to ring, delay ring or not to ring at all. It's very simple.

The customer might currently have the calls first ring on the phones(multicall) and then forward to a specific voicemail. This is quite common and cannot be achieved thru the use of CO lines.

It can actually be done using Abbrev. Dialing to the correct mailbox. I guess it just depends on how well one knows the switch.
