I have a SX2000 with old old old software (Q-stream) in a Hotel with PMS.

They are implementing a new PMS system and they have at least 1 command that is failing.

It is a command for changing the service restriction.

[STX]RTS? XXXXX[ETX]

I strongly suspect this string has been added since Q-Stream as before today I had never heard of it.

Is there anyone who knows of this command and possibly when it was added?

I'm somewhat inclined to say that came out in one of the Feature Levels, poss. Feature Level 1 in LW 31 Rls 1, I think. I do recall there being some PMS enhancements in that load.

Yeah, My thinking was that it was added around the same time as Suite Services and all the other Hotel/Motel enhancements at that time.

Regardless, that is what I'm telling the customer.

Who knows, maybe they'll reach into their wallet and spend the gelt to get to LW34. ;-) Not 100% sure but I faintly recall a bulletin somewhere mention that as further inducement the Feature sets (1,2,3,4) were bundled into the jump from LW29. Still a pricey upgrade. I think before spending that much (and depending on how many sets they have) I might point them towards a 3300 and let them keep their old per cans & sets for a while longer. H-M market seldom happy to hear you recommending a full forklift upgrade.

The RST came with suites. That came in in R37.6.3 software which is lightware 30. Good to keep the old release notes i guess.

Thanks Everyone, Nice to have some facts to back up supposition.

We've been quoting upgrades to this customer for years but they just won't bite.

Too many per-nodes for a single 3300 (unless using expansion nodes)

We'll see where it goes. They made their bed so to speak.
