Hi,

We are trying swap an E&M card out for a DNI(330) card.
E&M programming has been removed.
In the system it shows "no card present" under programmed field.
Yet it shows the "E&M" card in installed field.
Is it a snapshot?
We "physically" have the old E&M card removed from system.
Should we install new DNI card?
Will it change the installed field?
Could we get any alerts if it doesn't take in the system?

Any hints or suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Are you sure you don't have the programmed type and installed types confused?

In addition to removing all of the trunk programming, you also have to remove the card in the System Config form.
What does the system config show as the programmed card type for that slot?

If nothing else, wait for an opportunity when you can take that one peripheral cabinet out of service then "Load" it from the maintenance terminal. Eg. if it's in cabinet 3 then the command load 3 1 29 will cause the peripheral switch controller for that cabinet to reload. This could take several minutes during which time everything in that cabinet will be out of service.

Hi MIMB,

We got the E&M card out and the new DNI card into the slot ok in order to start using it.
We found out that we needed to back out of the system config screen and refresh the form!
We were definitely looking at the programmed types and installed types.
We had removed the card in the system config form - set it to "DNI LINE".

We had a minor alrm but no outages.
Anything else we should have executed or could have done more smoothly?

Not really.

So what's your status on that system? Still planning to throw cubic dollars at it to upgrade the software and add the peripheral node and (now 4) addt'l DNIC cards?
